A geração Google e a leitura

"Does the Google generation, which has grown up with a deluge of data just clicks away, lack the independence of thought and critical rigour needed for higher study?" pergunta Matthew Reisz, do Times Higher Education.

A resposta está no relatório CIBER, cujo sumário executivo vale a pena ler:
The findings of these studies raise questions about the ability of schools and colleges to develop the search capabilities of the Google Generation to a level appropriate to the demands of higher education and research.

De nada, Teresa.

A este propósito, estou a ler um artigo muito interessante: The Library in the New Age. Ainda só vou a meio, mas pelo primeiro parágrafo já pode ajuizar o conteúdo:

"Information is exploding so furiously around us and information technology is changing at such bewildering speed that we face a fundamental problem: How to orient ourselves in the new landscape? What, for example, will become of research libraries in the face of technological marvels such as Google?"

Um beijinho para si também.
